For Umrah travel from Pakistan, check both the vaccination requirements for entry into Saudi Arabia and the documents required for departure from Pakistan. Your airline and the authorised vaccination centre should confirm the requirements that apply to your travel dates. Check the current official requirements
The Saudi Ministry of Health's 1447H (2026) Umrah guidance requires people arriving from Pakistan to have at least one dose of bivalent oral polio vaccine (bOPV) or inactivated polio vaccine (IPV), regardless of age or previous vaccination status.
The document's timing notes recommend IPV within the previous twelve months, or OPV within the previous six months, with at least four weeks before arrival. Ask your vaccination centre and airline how the applicable timing and certificate rules affect your flight. A paperwork deadline does not replace vaccine-specific guidance.
Confirm how your certificate will be verified
Before leaving the vaccination centre, ask how to retrieve your certificate and whether your airline requires a digitally verifiable record. Check the recorded details while there is still time to correct them. Do not rely on a forwarded message or a clinic receipt as proof that all departure requirements have been met.
- Check your name against the passport you will use.
- Check the passport number and ask the issuing centre about any mismatch.
- Check the vaccine name and vaccination date.
- Ask how the airline can verify the certificate and which printed or digital copies you must carry.
Ask about the other health requirements
The same Saudi guidance requires meningococcal vaccination covering ACYW for Umrah, at least ten days before arrival. Its validity depends on the vaccine type. Additional requirements can depend on health, age and travel history; have a clinician review the full current guidance for your circumstances.
Preparing for a Karachi departure
Ask your airline which certificate format it accepts at Karachi and whether any separate Pakistani departure instruction applies. Request the issuing authority, notice date and reference when someone quotes an extension. We have not confirmed the reported 10 October cut-off, the available vaccination locations or their opening hours.
Keep your flight date, arrival date, passport and vaccination records together when speaking to the centre. If your passport has changed since a certificate was issued, ask the centre how to update or link the record. Confirm corrections before travel.
