Maldives IMUGA declaration: a guide for Pakistani travellers

Last reviewed: 2026-10-09. Travel requirements can change. Check the official Maldives Immigration instructions before departure. Completing a declaration does not guarantee entry; immigration officers decide admission.

If you are preparing a Maldives holiday from Pakistan, put the IMUGA Traveller Declaration on your pre-flight checklist. This guide focuses on submitting that form and checking your records. For the wider distinction between visa-free travel, visas on arrival and electronic permissions, see our Pakistani passport travel guide.

When to submit the declaration

Maldives Immigration requires arriving foreigners to submit the Traveller Declaration within 96 hours before arrival. Each traveller, including children and minors, needs an individual declaration. These instructions appear on the official tourist entry page.

Use the Maldives arrival date and time shown on your flight itinerary as your planning reference. A flight leaving Karachi in the evening may arrive on a different calendar date. Write down the arrival details before setting a reminder; do not substitute your Pakistan check-in date or hotel check-in date. If you are unsure how the submission window applies to your itinerary, ask the official authority before submitting.

Start from the official page, not a paid copycat

The declaration is free and can be submitted yourself without an agent. Maldives Immigration warns against unofficial services requesting payment or personal information. Open its Traveller Declaration instructions and follow the official form link there.

Do this when you have time to compare your documents carefully. A search advertisement, familiar-looking logo or message forwarded by someone else is not proof that a form belongs to the authority. If a page asks you to pay to submit this declaration, stop and return to the official instructions. Avoid sending passport photographs or payment details to an unfamiliar contact offering to complete it.

A practical preparation checklist

The following is a planning checklist, not a claim about every field or upload the portal currently requests. Keep your genuine documents together and answer the live form using their details. Do not guess an answer to move to the next screen.

Documents to compare before submitting
Keep readyCheck for consistency
Travel passportUse the passport you will carry, rather than an expired booklet.
Flight itineraryRead the Maldives arrival details and distinguish each connecting flight.
Accommodation confirmationUse the property and booking details for your actual stay.
Family document folderKeep each person's passport and submission record together.

Compare names and numbers character by character before submitting. For a family trip, work through one traveller at a time and label saved records clearly. Keep an adult's record separate from a child's so the wrong confirmation is not opened during document checks. Ask a travelling companion to review what you entered if you find it difficult to read small text on a phone.

Submit, save the result and check changes

  • Follow the current official portal instructions and review your entries before submission.
  • Save the confirmation or evidence of completion the portal provides, together with any instructions attached to it.
  • Check that you can open the saved record without relying on a forwarded message or someone else's phone.
  • If your flight or passport details change, consult the official instructions about corrections and timing rather than assuming your earlier record remains suitable.
  • If the website stops responding, return through the authority's official page. Do not use a paid substitute just because it promises an instant result.

Saving a record is practical preparation, not a substitute for successful submission. If you cannot tell whether the form went through, check the official portal's available options or contact Maldives Immigration. Do not treat a screenshot of an unfinished page as confirmation.

Do you need another declaration to depart?

An official notice announced removal of the outbound Traveller Declaration requirement from 15 August 2024. Read the departure notice and recheck current instructions before your return journey. Advice copied from an older arrival-and-departure checklist may no longer match the authority's published position.

Questions to resolve before leaving Pakistan

Does submission mean my trip is fully cleared? Treat this form as one item in your preparation. Read the full official entry guidance separately and ask your airline about requirements along your exact route, including any transit stop. A travel checklist should not become a promise of admission.

Can I use one record for the whole family? Organise a folder for each traveller and check that the required individual submissions are accounted for before you leave home.

Should I leave it until the airport? Plan to submit within the official window while you have time to correct mistakes. Airport Wi-Fi, a low phone battery or a missing document can make a simple task harder. Our first-time travel planning guide can help you organise the rest of your preparation.

Help with the holiday around the form

Keep the official declaration instructions open as you prepare; travel assistance does not replace the authority's current requirements.
