A first international trip starts with a reason to travel, a realistic budget and a plan you can explain. This guide does not rank countries by approval likelihood. A blank passport does not let us predict a decision, and taking additional trips simply to collect stamps does not guarantee a future visa.
Choose a trip you actually want to take
Consider your dates, intended activities, transport, accommodation and the people travelling with you. Compare practical arrangements without assuming that a destination is easy or difficult for your passport. Check current official entry instructions for your circumstances before paying for travel.
Confirm the application route
Find out whether your intended activities require an application and which authority or authorised channel handles it. Confirm the documents, fees and any appointment instructions. Previous travellers' experiences can suggest questions, but they are not a substitute for the rules that apply to you now.
Organise the preparation
- Write down your purpose and proposed itinerary.
- Identify the funds and support you genuinely plan to use.
- Check passport and document instructions.
- Keep copies of applications, correspondence and any decisions.
Keep the budget transparent
Separate official fees, service charges and travel costs. Ask for a dated quote that states what is included and confirm the authorised payment instructions. Read cancellation and refund conditions before accepting a booking; do not assume a visa refusal automatically makes every payment refundable.
Our Application Readiness Score records your own progress in reviewing seven preparation areas. It does not compare approval chances between destinations. If a section is incomplete, use it to make a practical task list. Book My Trip can help discuss your itinerary and organise documents, while the relevant authority decides eligibility and entry permission.
